Negative Feedback

Usually, I don't take negative feedback personally. If something is wrong with my product, tell me right away! Don't wait several weeks, perhaps months before mentioning it to me, especially if you rate me low for it and ALL my other ratings are 4.0's.

I received a rating of a 2.1 because a buyer mentions several mistakes in it. When I first saw it I nodded and said ok. I responded back, giving my email so the buyer could let me know the mistakes I made and correct them. I would hope they would email me the mistake I made so that I could fixed them and compensate them for the effort.

I had someone purchase a different item and tell me there was a mistake in it. I appreciated the fact that she mentioned it to me first in the Q&A section instead on the rating section. She was a seller too and hoped I was not offended. Of course I wasn't. I was happy and appreciated the fact the she let me know. As sellers, we try to be perfect in the products we create, but we're not.

What do you think? Am I taking it too personally or do I have a right to vent a little?

Class Dismissed.

  1. I totally agree with you! I wish some buyers would realize how willing we are to fix something to their liking if they simply ask. I had a person comment on my most popular product (http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Writing-VOICES-Bulletin-Board-Headers-and-Goal-Cards-831936) because they were unhappy with the sentence "fragments" that I simplified in order to fit them on the cards and to make the goals easier to remember for students. After emailing the buyer, she was shocked that I edited the product to her liking and she even apologized for her snippy comment, but the comment and rating cannot be undone...

  2. I understand BOTH sides. As a purchaser, I want the products to be perfect (or as near as) because it's usually something that I am going to use that day or in the next few days. As a seller, I would like to know before I get the feedback and drop my rating.
