Greetings everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful end of the year. Some of you are out and some are not, but hang in there! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it is so bright! Here’s what going on with Powerpoint Gaming this month.

I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who entered my past giveaways! I greatly appreciate it. I’d also like to welcome all the new followers. You’re in for a treat!

Updates!

Beginning June 1^st, I will be updating my games. I will continue to make games, but on a lesser scale and to complete any bundle sets. Updates will include touch screen and Mac games. If there is game you wish to buy that you need for Mac, please let me know via email or in the Q&A section of that product and I will add it to the top of my list (I already have a 3 on my list). If not, I will start with my oldest games and work my way back. You can also check out my “Coming Soon” page on my blog to see what’s being updated each week. 

 

Yearly & Permanent License

The price of my Permanent License will increase from $100 to $125 on August 1^st. This is a heads up for anyone who thought about or wanted to buy a permanent license. I have over 200 PowerPoint games (and counting!). My Yearly License will remain the same at $25. If you purchased a yearly license before the change and are working towards a permanent license, you only have to work to $100 instead of $125.

 

1,000 Follower Spectacular!

I’m less than 50 followers away from 1,000 followers. I’ve joined a few giveaways this month so I’m sure to reach this epic milestone. When I do, you can believe the celebration will be huge! A whole week as a matter of fact! I’ll have daily prizes including numerous gift cards, flash freebies, and game giveaways! Christmas Advent Event Wrap UP - Visa Gift Card Giveaway!

This year was I did my first Christmas Advent event and I must say, it was a great success! I gained new followers, made some super games, and gave away tons of prizes. If you participated in any of the giveaways, I would like you to take a quick survey to tell me what you think.

Day 15 - Even or Odd Numbers

Practice identifying even or odd numbers with this fun Christmas games. Students must count the number of Christmas ornaments and determine whether that number is even or odd.

 

Day 16 - Elapsed Time Practice

Practice elapsed time with this yummy, Christmas dessert game! In teams, students compete against one another while answering time questions. There are 3 types of questions: start time, stop/finish time, and elapsed time. Each question deals with a different type of dessert. Yummy!

 

Day 17 - Number Patterns

Practice number patterns with this fun Christmas themed game. Students must figure out what the pattern is, whether it's addition or subtraction, and the next 3 numbers. Includes a hint button that states the rule.

 

Day 18 - Finding Santa

This game reinforces multiplying fraction with this fun powerpoint game. Santa is missing and your students must find them. Santa is hidden behind 5 boxes and there are 25 to choose from. In order to choose a box, students must correctly answer a fraction problem. Whoever finds the most Santas win.

 

 

Day 19 - Adding Within 5

Winner: Tonya Shore

 

Practice adding with this fun Christmas addition game. Using pictures of dice with Christmas trees instead dots, students add numbers from 0 to 5.

 

Day 20 - Comparing 2 Digit Numbers

Winner: Everyone - 24 Hour Freebie!

 

Practice comparing numbers with this fun Elf themed PowerPoint game. Students are comparing 2 digit numbers using the greater than, less than, and equal to sign.

 

Day 21 - Writing 3 Digit Numbers

Practice place value with this fun, engaging Santa themed. game. Students must identifying the number when given how many ones, tens, and hundreds.

 

Day 22 - Multiplication Word Problems

Winner: Mary Love Strange

 

Word problems are a hassle! Make it fun with the Christmas themed word problem game. There 5 cookies hidden behind one of 25 squares. Students must answer multiplication word problems in order to choose a square. Whoever finds the most cookies wins!

 

Day 23 - Types of Angles

Winner: Mary Love Strange

 

Engage students in this fun, competitive Geometry game. Students compete against one another or in teams to correctly identify different angles. This includes acute, obtuse, right, and straight angles.

 

Day 24 - Coordinate Grid Practice

Winner:  Kristine Dawson Stewart

 

Celebrate Christmas and practicing using the Coordinate Place with this engaging twist on traditional tic-tac-toe. Students choose a box and must answer the question correctly in order to place their shape. There are 3 game modes, each with 9 questions. There are 2 question types: naming objects at given coordinates and giving coordinates for given objects.

TPT Conference, Goals, and a Survery?

There are a few things I want to discuss with my followers. If you follow me on Facebook, you know why I've been posting sparingly. For everyone else, you'll find out why in a second.

 

So I tried to raise money through Fundly to go the TPT conference. That didn't work out as well as I hoped. Have no fear. I plan to start saving immediately to go next year. That means I am going to be working double time, making new products and changing some of the things I do with my store. 

 

Though I didn't go to TPT Conference, An Apple for the Teacher did and she has a great blog about all the sessions she attended. It almost feels like I went there myself. They're great tips. If you missed out, is the link to some of the sessions. They're posted on TPT (free).

Rest assured these notes are so good and An Apple for the Teacher explains it so well that even though her pictures were from the back, of the room it felt like she the presenter herself.


Looking at her notes, I generated new goals for myself:

• Go to the TPT Conference next year!
• Become a better Seller!
• Create better products!

The reason I have not been posting as much is because a few days after my recent post, I had a seizure. It was a scary experience because I don't remember much. One moment I was talking with a dear friend visiting from out of town, the next I'm asking myself "Why am I on the floor?"

After being taken to the hospital, the doctors examined me and sent me home that same day with meds and to relax. I hoped it would never happen again.

So for the next few weeks, I was on bed rest until I could see the neurologist. Happy to say it has not happened again (and hoping it never will again). I am angry that I can not see a neurologist until August. We'll just have to hope and pray for the best. I do want to thank my loyal followers for sticking with me in this tough time!

With all that's been going on, I've been limiting myself to how much I work on TPT products, which is real nerve wrecking. I've been slowly getting back into working on games. I even came up with a new game type.

I do request your help. I made a short survey about my store. I want some feedback about how I am doing and any areas that need improvement. There are about 6 questions, most are your opinion.
